Yes, you read correctly; this is indeed an authentic Nintendo licensed controller built specifically for PC use. I've never heard of these thing's which strengthened my curiosity to purchase it from a local thrift store. At first glance the controller looked like it had been made for the Nintendo 64. The design has a generic 1998-2001 design embedded onto the controller which made it seem so.
The controller was designed and manufactured by a company called Laral which Nintendo a license to manufacture a joystick for PC under the Nintendo name. Now apparently this is quite a common "Goodwill" Item according to forum post's indicating casual thrifters finding the same controller. If you plan on becoming an avid Nintendo collector and want to get one of these controller's for relatively small price, you should check out your local thrift store.
